Grade school

Our mission is to educate the whole child - mind, body, and spirit - and we do that by mirroring the love and care that Christ has for each person. We make sure that our students have every opportunity to use their minds, strengthen their bodies, and draw closer to Christ in spirit.

Why Catholic education?

Because your child is worth it. Education will be one of the most influential factors in your child’s life - and they deserve to be educated in a safe, caring environment where they can be seen, listened to, and challenged to reach their full potential.

Our students

Our students are not only formed in high-level academics but also in values such as compassion, a listening spirit, openness, and respect for human life and the dignity of each person. This kind of education can only take place within an environment which reflects and upholds the values it teaches. Our chapel, hallways and classrooms are spaces that engage students to reflect upon and live out authentic values.

Our mission at DMCS is to greet and welcome every student with love and mercy. Our task is provide a Catholic education to students of all faith and socio-economic backgrounds, so as to foster development in body, mind and spirit.

Academics

DMCS offers advanced academics through the use of dynamic, school-chosen curriculum and time-tested teaching methods. We proudly boast of our strong commitment to the fundamentals of literacy and math and our students are often placed in advanced classes upon entering high school. Our strong academic standard goes hand-in-hand with our environment - when a child feels safe, loved and a sense of belonging, they are free to be challenged and reach their full academic potential.

Elementary

Our Elementary Program is founded upon our DMCS pillars: our belief in the potential of each child to grow in body, mind and spirit. Our aim is first to let each student know that they are loved, safe and cared for and then to challenge them to grow to their full potential.

What makes our elementary program unique is our strong focus on literacy through phonics, handwriting and reading and our dedication to teaching math skills from an early age. We join the students in excitement each year as they reach new tested reading levels; the majority of our elementary students finish the year scoring at least a grade or two above their age.

Middle School

We know that middle school years are critical in the development of young people. Here at DMCS, we set a strong focus on academic excellence, exploring a variety of subjects through carefully chosen curriculum. What makes DMCS unique is the value we place on teaching the time-tested fundamentals of literacy through grammar, creative writing, and novel studies. We also emphasize the importance of strong math skills and are delighted to see so many DMCS students prepared for advanced placement classes in high school.

Along with challenging students to meet their potential in literacy and math, we also offer a much valued art program, music classes, gym, world issues class and catechism.
